Cooky was preceded to be with our Lord by her little brother, Brian David Klein; and her mother, Edna Brooks Klein.
Cooky was born April 29, 1946 in Battles Wharf. She was a 1964 graduate of Fairhope High School and a 1967 registered nurse graduate of Mobile General School of Nursing (currently University of South Alabama School of Nursing).
Cooky worked as a surgical and office nurse for Dr. Charles H. Burt for 25 years until his retirement at which time she retired to become neighborhood nurse, mentor to many young people, and to be with her husband, family and friends.
Cooky loved plants, flowers, her cats and most of all, her husband and her friends and family.
Most any day you could find her working in her beautiful yards, either in Decatur or her beloved homeplace in Fairhope. Cooky was a very avid gardener and craftsman.
Her artistic talents were not only in her decorating ability, but in her many floral arrangements and her beautiful landscaping abilities.
Cooky enjoyed her Fairhope class of 1964 classmates at planned reunions, and always looked forward to the monthly dinner get-togethers whenever her medical treatments allowed.
Cooky touched the hearts of everyone who was blessed with the opportunity to see and hear her wisdom, wittiness, smile, laughter and joyous heartfelt love that touched all of us who knew her. We miss you so very much, but we’ll all be together one wonderful day when we can sing and rejoice forever.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Allan Schmidt, Dr. Lionel Naylor, Dr. Khurshid Yousuf, Dr. Sammy Becdach and the staff and nurses of Clearview Cancer Institute-Decatur.
