Well, Prom is just around the corner and time to go get all those beautiful gowns. This is always a very special night for all the high school seniors. So don’t hurt Mom and Dad’s pocket too bad. Most of all, have some fun, but be extremely careful. Keep in mind all the advise your parents have given you these past 18 or 19 years. Continue to be respectful and that same intelligent person we know you to be.
Hats to my son, Queint Higgins. He is the assistant girl’s basketball coach at Faulkner and the Intake Coordinator of Student Services at United States Sports Academy in Daphne. Queint received his B.S. Degree from the University of Wyoming where he attended and played basketball. He received a master’s degree last year. Just wanted to say “I love you son and I am very proud of you.” Keep believing and trusting in the Lord.
Practice will be held at 12 this Saturday for the Easter (Resurrection) Program at Union Baptist. If you or your child has a part on the program, you are ask to have them there by 12 noon. Annie Mae Moore is the chairperson and I.V. Crenshaw is assistant. Other committee members are: Paulette Williams and Bernice Boykin.
The Area Women Action Group will hold its regular meeting Saturday at 10 a.m. at the SAIL office in Bay Minette. All members are encouraged to be there. Golden Pat Gray is president.
Final good-byes were said to Ardee Robertson last week. He was a former instructor and Senior Advisor at Douglasville High School. Sympathy goes out to his entire family and especially to his wife Mary Robertson and daughter, Ashley. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where the Rev. Jimmy Prince is the pastor.
Don’t forget to check with Alice Crook on the College Tour Trip. The Charter Bus cost is $30 and you will even get an opportunity to attend an off-season football game at Auburn. This is sponsored by the scholarship committee of Union Baptist Church where the Rev. Dwight Boykin is pastor.
