Earl “Buddy” Thompson Jr., 87, born in Stockton and a resident of Spanish Fort, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 at his residence.
He was a manager (retired) at Cosby-Hodges Milling Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his children, William J. (Charlene) Diamond of Springfield, Mass. and Virginia Funke of Spanish Fort; seven grandchildren, Michelle Diamond, Suzzane Corriveau, Laura Ryder, Robin Meadows, Gene Diamond, Shane Funke and Kirby Gates; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret E. Diamond Thompson; his son, Thomas E. Diamond; and a granddaughter, Pamela Redfern.
Graveside services and burial will be held Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Stockton Memorial Cemetery, with the Rev. Wayne Anderson officiating. Military honors will be rendered at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Mercy Medical Hospice, Breast Cancer Awareness or to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
