Lucy Pegues Durant, 89, a native of Marion and a resident of Daphne, died Monday, June 7, 2010.
She a Masters Degree in counseling from University of South Alabama. She was an active member of Central Presbyterian Church in Mobile for 60 years; a founding member of Lake Forest Garden Club & Women’s Club; a member of the Mobile Pilot Club; and a member of the ADK Teachers Sorority.
Survivors include a son, Winston Durant (Janet Horst) of Daphne; daughter, Charlotte (Ernest) Singletary of Pell City; two brothers, B.B. Pegues Jr. of Marion Junction and J.R. Pegues of Birmingham; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation begins at noon Friday, June 11 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Presbyterian Children’s Home, P.O. Drawer 577, Talladega, AL 35161.
