Lorraine Goergen Dunlevy, 78, a resident of Evans, Ga., died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008.

Following her service as a nurse in the Navy Medical Corps, she practiced pediatric nursing in Jacksonville, Fla., and Columbus, Ga.

She and her husband Bill moved to Dodge, Neb., in 1981 and operated the Mercy Martini for 14 years before retiring to Foley, where she was active in the arts community and was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

After her husband died she moved to Evans, Ga., where she was a member of The Church of Our Savior.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William L. Dunlevy, in 2006.

Survivors include two daughters, Luanne (Allen) Emanuel of Ft. Calhoun, Neb., Melissa (Clay) Hall of Grovetown, Ga.; two sisters, Delores Bianco of Jacksonville, Fla., and Brenda Dombrowski of Foley; and three grandchildren, Sara Lierman of Blair, Neb., Hollis Wells and Henry Hall of Grovetown, Ga.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Foley. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla

The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
