Kenneth Hamilton “Pete” Duffee, 85, born in Stockton, a resident of Bay Minette, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at Oakwood Nursing Home.
He was an aircraft electrician (retired) at Brookley Field.
He was a very compassionate man. He was a friend to all and was very dedicated to visiting the residents at Oakwood. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and was known as the candyman. He was member of Bay Minette Lodge #498, F.& A.M. for 60 years and the Ella D. Chambers #26 Order of the Eastern Star. He was a deputy with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department. He was very proud to be an Honor Flight recipient in 2010. He was a World War II veteran having served with the U. S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by a son, Randall Duffee; and four brothers. Survivors include his wife, Alice Gilbert Duffee of Bay Minette; his children, Carl Duffee and Joey Duffee, both of White House Fork; Lois (John) Burford of Milry, Myron (Chris) Yarbrough of Bay Minette, Marilyn (Arnold) Johnson of White House Fork and Nolan (T.J.) Yarbrough of Bay Minette; sister, Sue Edwards of Bay Minette; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation begins at noon with funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26 from the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Larry Patterson officiating. Interment will follow atBayMinetteCemetery.
Pallbearers are Doug Kennedy, Blake Yarbrough, Chris Stewart, Matt Curtis, Kenny Duffee and Jeff Duffee.
