A popular restaurant near the beaches of Baldwin County was recently called the most famous diner in the state of Alabama.

Business Insider compiled a list of “the most famous diner in every state,” where Duck’s Diner in Orange Beach was highlighted as the most famous of its kind in Alabama.

Opening in 2001, Duck’s Diner, located at 4560 Easy Street, is one of the most popular dining spots in the area for both locals and visitors, serving all-day breakfast and Southern comfort food, from loaded omelets and banana-stuffed French toast made with Gambino’s French bread to hamburger steaks, fried chicken, Creole shrimp, burgers and sandwiches.

“Duck's Diner is a laid-back Alabama restaurant that's become a go-to stop for locals and vacationers,” Business Insider said about Duck’s Diner. “The casual spot is best known for its hearty breakfast plates, Southern comfort food, and classic diner favorites like grits and French toast, served just minutes from the beach.”

In 2024, Duck’s Diner opened a new location in Gulf Shores at 120 E. Fort Morgan Road, where Hazel’s Nook used to reside.
