Dream Center of Baldwin County to break ground on new community facility in Foley

Nonprofit expands footprint to deepen impact across the county

The Dream Center of Baldwin County will break ground this week on a new facility designed to expand its reach and deepen its impact on families and individuals in need across the region.

A public groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for April 25 at 11 a.m. at the center's future home, 18460 Underwood Road in Foley. Local officials, supporters, volunteers and community members are invited to attend.

The expansion marks a milestone for the nonprofit, which was founded in 2021 to offer support programs for children and families dealing with abuse, addiction and hardship. Since its launch, the Dream Center has become a critical resource in Baldwin County, providing recovery services, life skills training, educational support and mentorship.

"This new facility is more than just bricks and mortar — it's a symbol of transformation and opportunity for individuals who need a fresh start," said Joe Aldrete, executive director of the Dream Center. "We are here to walk with kids through some of life's hardest moments, and this expansion allows us to do that more effectively than ever before."

The new building will include classrooms, counseling and recovery meeting spaces, a full kitchen, administrative offices and areas designed for youth mentorship and community engagement. Construction is expected to be completed by early 2026.

The project is fueled by ongoing support from donors, church partners and volunteers. Fundraising efforts are continuing, and organizers say there are still opportunities for community members to contribute time, resources or funding.
