Drainage work completed on Lake Forest’s Bay View Drive

Posted

DAPHNE, Ala.— After 64 days of the roadwork projects in Lake Forest, the contractors have already accomplished a great deal of the roadwork slated for the project.

The completed aspects of the project include the completion of drainage work on Bay View Drive. This past week construction was delayed due to inclement weather, but the project is still running on schedule.

On Thursday, the contractor announced that the inlet throats, boxes and tops were completed along Ridgewood Drive north of Lawson Road, the repairs to the driveway aprons are complete on the property side and the mountable curbing at the medians on the same roadway is 75 percent complete.

In the upcoming week, property owners with property between 424 and 482 Ridgewood Drive, 425 and 469 Ridgewood Drive, at 101 Lawson Road and 100 Cherry Hill Road, between 485 and 521 Ridgewood Drive and 486 and 532 Ridgewood Drive, between 139 and 149 Bay View Drive and 146 and 152 Bay View Drive can expect to be amid roadwork.

In the upcoming week, contractors expect the final asphalt wearing to be completed on Ridgewood Drive north and south of Lawson Road and the median curbing work to be completed on Ridgewood Drive south of Lawson Road. All curbing should also be completed at Ridgewood Drive and the Lawson Road entrance.

Curbing, drainage and tree removal work will continue.

Lake Forest residents can continue to expect traffic delays as a result of the construction during working hours. Flaggers will be placed along the impacted areas to direct traffic.

Daphne’s Public Works Department will hold status meetings regarding the Lake Forest capital road improvements each Thursday and send email updates on Fridays. There will be no meeting or update on July 30. Meetings will resume on July 7.
