William C. “Bill” Douglas Sr., 80, a native of Roberts, and a resident of Orange Beach, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008.
He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Air Force, a 1954 graduate of Auburn University, retired from General Motors, was an active community leader in Orange Beach and a member and elder of the Orange Beach Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Douglas.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Douglas, Orange Beach, a daughter, Carol Douglas (David) McKeithen, Summerdale, two sons, William C. (Brooke) Douglas Jr., Columbus, Ga., Stephen Knox (Alysson) Douglas, Stapleton, two sisters, Audrey Boyd, Brewton, Dorothy Maddox, Brewton, two brothers, Homer Douglas, East Brewton, Carson Douglas, East Brewton, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28 at the Orange Beach Presbyterian Church with a visitation to follow.
