Carolyn Jaye Dorough, 76 a native of Mexia and a resident of Stapleton, for the past 43 years, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009.
She was a faithful member of Green Acres Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Thomasine Dorough; and her parents, Rachel and Joe Jaye of Mexia.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Thomas I. Dorough of Stapleton; son, Thomas D. (Mary Lou) Dorough of Stapleton; three daughters, Bobbie (Mike) Harvill of Bay Minette, Pam (the Rev. Randy) Byrd of Grenada, Miss., and Brenda (Keith) Grimes of Stapleton; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a host of family and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 2 from the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Byrd Randall Short and the Rev. Mike Grindle officiating. Burial followed at Mexia Baptist Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by Norris Funeral Home, Bay Minette.
