Dorothy Jeanine May Carley, 76, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010.
She was born in Perdido to Leemon and Dimple May. After graduating from Baldwin County High School in 1952, she worked over 30 years as a civil servant for both the Navy and Army. Before retiring to Gulf Breeze, she lived in Hawaii, Europe and travelled extensively in Asia.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen (Michael) Thomas and two grandchildren, Christopher and Ana; sister Wanda McKinnon; two brothers, Ray May and Rodney May; and her faithful and loving friend, Ralph “Jim” Ashton.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. at Pine Grove Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Perdido.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Salvation Army.
