Doris Bryan Dearborn, the oldest child and only daughter of Doss and Mozelle Bryan, was born March 22, 1930. She grew up with her parents and five brothers in the vicinity of Opp, Ala.
One week from graduating from high school, she started college at what was then Troy State Teachers College. She graduated with a degree in elementary education and taught many years - 30 of those years at Robertsdale. It was at Troy where she met her husband of 60 years.
Mrs. Dearborn passed away on Friday, Sept. 23, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Sam Bryan and Travis Bryan.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Dearborn of Silverhill; one daughter, Cindy Orem (Randy) of Daphne; one son, Donnie Dearborn (Pamela) of Silverhill; three brothers, Lamar Bryan (Linda) of Dry Prong, La., Frank Bryan (Mary) of Opp, Ala. and Mack Bryan (Delores) of Robertsdale; sisters-in-law, Bette Bryan of Montgomery, Ala. and Bettie Bryan of Winter Garden, Fla.; four grandchildren, Justin Ryan Dearborn, Robert Ethan Dearborn, Lauris Elizabeth Orem and Tyler Randall Orem; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at 2 p.m., at Mack Funeral Home. Burial will be in Silverhill Cemetery.
A visitation will be held Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, from 6 until 8 p.m., at Mack Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Silverhill Public Library, First Christian Church of Robertsdale or Robertsdale High School Alumni Scholarship Fund.
