Donald “Bubba” Wayne Ray passed away peacefully on Jul. 4, 2026, at the age of 91, surrounded by family. Born on Apr. 27, 1935, in Kingsville, Texas, to Ora and Jack Ray, Bubba was known for his quiet strength, determination, quick wit, strong work ethic, devotion to family, and service to his Orange Beach community. He was a member of various local Mardi Gras krewes, crowned king twice, as well as founding the Lower Alabama Parrot Head Club with his wife, Celia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Orvis and Gary Ray; and sons, Robert “Bobby,” Fred “Freddy,” and William “Bill” Ray. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Celia Ray; daughters, Sharon Marsh and Vanessa Ray; brother, Allen Ray (Linda); sister, Jackie Strubhart (Danny); and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
