MOBILE – The Gulf Shores Dolphins ruined St. Paul’s homecoming on Friday as they defeated the Saints 33-14 in a 5A Region 1 game.
The Dolphins, who improved to 6-2 overall and 4-2 in region play, secured a 5A playoff spot with the win for the second straight season.
Senior quarterback Logan Paul accounted for 387 yards of offense to lead the Dolphins. He completed 20-of-30 passes for 270 yards and four touchdowns and added 117 yards rushing and a touchdown. Paul now has 27 touchdown passes and 10 touchdown runs this season.
Paul threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Jonathan Adams in the first half.
St. Paul’s led 7-6 at halftime before the Dolphins exploded for 27 second half points.
Paul connected with Adams for a 29-yard score and passed to Brandon Gottfried for another score in the third quarter. He rushed for a score in the fourth quarter, then hit Gottfried again later in the quarter.
Adams had five catches for 117 yards and two scores while Gottfried had eight catches for 78 yards and two touchdowns.
Gulf Shores will host Faith Academy on Friday.
