Dolores Teem Mikkelsen, of Foley, Alabama, transitioned into Heaven on Mar. 14, 2024, at the

age of 88. Preceding her in death was her son, Michael Wayne Teem, her parents Roy and Emelie Mikkelsen, and her brother, William Roy Mikkelsen. She is survived by her husband, Robert Wayne Teem of Foley, her children Julie Teem Hase (Chris) from Suffolk, Virginia, Robert Alan Teem (Lea) of Summerdale, and Diana Teem Moore of Foley, her brother, Robert L. Mikkelsen of Summerdale, and her sister-in-law Maria Mikkelsen (Carmela) of Huntsville. She has five granddaughters, one grandson, six great grandchildren (plus one coming this summer), and many nieces and nephews. Her family and serving God were her greatest joys.

Dolores grew up in Summerdale, graduated from Foley High School, attended Livingston State Teachers’ College, received a B.S. in Business Education from the University of South Alabama, and a M.S. in Secondary Education from Troy University. She taught business subjects at Robertsdale High School for 21 years, was the sponsor for Student Council and Youth for Christ, and she loved teaching her students. Dolores attended Marlow United Methodist Church throughout her whole life except for a few years in the Robertsdale United Methodist Church. She served the Lord in many capacities as a youth leader, choir member, Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, a member of many committees, and a longtime member of United Methodist Women. She began a Bible Study for the women at her new home at Live Oak Assisted Living. Dolores was one of the early members of the Habitat for Humanity chapter in Baldwin County. She was very involved in Summerdale School PTA, volunteered at Baldwin Teleministries, and was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa International Sorority of teachers. She lived her life helping people and nurturing those around her.

She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, neighbors, and all those who knew her.
