DAPHNE, Ala. — In an effort to promote green living and help save the planet, Daphne High students are participating in a Recycle Plastic Bottle Caps Campaign.

DHS students are bringing in used plastic bottle caps to the DHS library and depositing them in a Recycle Bucket specifically for the caps. This recycling program runs in conjunction with the daily EcoFacts Recycle tips that are announced over the school’s closed television announcement system.  Recycling tips are shown daily.

This week’s number one EcoFact tip encourages students to forego buying Styrofoam cups.

American’s reportedly throw away 25 billion Styrofoam cups a year.  This purportedly is enough cups to circle the earth 436 times.
