DAPHNE, Ala. — Daphne High School’s agriscience department and Lake Forest Garden Club will have their two-day plant sale from 7 to 10 a.m. Oct. 31 and Nov. 7 at the greenhouses behind the high school — rain or shine.

There are potted mums; 6-inch pots of dusty miller, kale and cabbage at $1.50 each. Flats of petunias, pansies and snap dragons will be $12. Hanging baskets of petunias will be $8 each. These plants are suitable for the fall through next spring, when little else is in bloom.

Lake Forest Garden Club members will be on hand to assist with flower choices; look for women with colorful aprons. Students will load the plants into patrons’ vehicles and to show the results of their horticulture knowledge.

Proceeds from the sale will be used to support agriscience programs — sending the students to compete in career development events, to attend the state convention and to enhance community beautification.
