Delta Elementary School set a goal.

And it surpassed that goal, raising $3,903.73 for the American Heart Association.

This amount was nearly twice as much as last year a Facebook post from the school said.

Students earned many prizes throughout the fundraiser, receiving their final prizes just in time for the Mardi Gras break the post said. One student, kindergartener Jaxen Barlow, was Delta Elementary's top fundraiser as he raised over $400 in 2026, earning a medal for his efforts.

Second through sixth grades also enjoyed a friendly jump rope contest along the way.

Last year, students raised $2,616.45 in the fundraiser for the American Heart Association.

The school thanked students and families that participated in raising the funds for the organization, which also earned the school money to spend on PE equipment and games.
