Margaret T. Delaney, a resident of Gulf Shores for the past 38 years, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007.
She was born July 21, 1914 in Lexington, Tenn. She was raised in Nashville, Tenn., attended Cumberland College in Lebannon, Tenn., and began her career as wife and mother in 1937.
She was employed by the federal government for 17 years, retiring in 1969 as an administrative officer. She was an assistant city clerk in Gulf Shores from 1972 to 1982.
Survivors include three children, Joseph Daniel (Teri) Parker Jr., Margaret Lane Parker-Smith and Patti (David) Bodenhamer; six step-children, Tom (Sharon) Delaney, Karen (Jack) Peterson, Marie (Greg) Rauer, Janine (Cliff) Pierson, Maureen Delaney and Mike Delaney; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and visitation were held Saturday, Sept. 1 at Pine Rest Funeral Home. Burial followed at Pine Rest Memorial Park.
