Inez Childress Davison, 83, born March 17, 1924 in Thorsby, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007 after a long battle with cancer.
She was a resident of Warner Robins, Ga., for 12 years and a longtime resident of Baldwin County.
She was a retired nurse who had worked at South Baldwin Hospital. She was a member of Orange Beach Presbyterian Church. She was very active in Robertsdale school activities. She and her husband, Walter, helped with the Robertsdale Band Booster Club and ran the concession stand for many years. She volunteered for the past 12 years in the Robertsdale Elementary School library. She helped sponsor the Christmas Bazaar which benefitted the library.
She was a sponsor for one of the annual reading awards. She was an avid Auburn fan and supporter. She and her family enjoyed water skiing, boating and fishing.
She will be remembered for her wonderful coooking. She made over 80 Friendship cakes each year at Christmas for family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Davison; and parents, Ben and Callie Childress.
Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn (Walter) Lowery of Robertsdale; son, Byron (Donna) Davison of Orange Beach; brother, Bill Childress of Robertsdale; four granddaughters, Lisa (Bobby) Terrell of Foley, Dana (Larry) Hood of Lillian; Lori (Scott) Miller of Pensacola, Fla., and Sandi Davison of Pensacola; two great-grandchildren, Blakeli Hood of Lillian and Laura Terrell of Foley; devloted niece, Sandra Hill; and devoted nephew, Tim Wallace; her most devoted and loyal friend, Inez Springer of Robertsdale; other nieces, nephews and relatives.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. at Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley. Entombment will be at Pine Rest Memorial Park Magnolia Mausoleum.
