Mary Lou Davidson, born July 25, 1933 in Vinegar bend, a longtime resident of Fairhope, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007.
She was a homemaker.
She was a faithful member of Fairhope Avenue Baptist Church and past member of Four Points Baptist Church, having grown up in Escatawpa Baptist Church in Washington County.
She served by volunteering at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope and Helping Hands in Chatom. She was a member of Washington County Baptist Seniors and The Woman’s Club, Vinegar Bend. She was an active member of the Nix Senior Citizen Center where you could find her on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
She was preceded in death by her parents, H.M. and Virgie Platt, a sister, Sara Platt Pittman, and a brother, Gene Platt.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Clayton Donald Davidson; daughter, Susan (Bill) Howard of Fairhope; son, Steven Davidson of Vinegar Bend; grandchildren, Jennifer Smith of Fairhope, Leslie Davidson Warren and Joshua Davidson of Mobile; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Kerry Platt, Douglas Platt of Olive Branch, Miss., Harold Platt of Vinegar Bend; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends, all for whom she had an abundance of love.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3 at Fairhope Avenue Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. at Four Points Community Cemetery.
