FAIRHOPE, Alabama — Fairhope High School head football coach David Faulkner was hired Tuesday to fill the vacant football head coaching position at Enterprise High School.

Fairhope High School principal Beverly Thomas confirmed that Faulkner had been confirmed by the Enterprise Board of Education to be the head coach but will not be the school's athletic director.

Faulkner, whose resignation from Fairhope will be effective Jan. 2, could not be immediately reached for comment. He was 28-9 in three seasons at Fairhope and led the Pirates to the third round of the 6A state playoffs this season.
