SPANISH FORT, Ala. — Some people prefer the direct, no-nonsense path of the interstate to get from point A to point B.

David Andrews would rather take the scenic route and enjoy the drive.

Andrews, who joined Spanish Fort Middle School in August, teaches seventh- and eighth-grade math and pre-algebra and applies this same principle in his classroom.

“I’m more concerned with them understanding the process than in them getting the right answer,” he said.
