Daphne senior Donovan Wilson wasted no time in the new year and announced his commitment to the Huntingdon Hawks basketball program Jan. 1 on social media.

Wilson recently recorded his 1,000th career point for the Trojans and has helped the team to an 11-10 record entering play within Class 7A Area 2 next week.

The 6-foot, 180-pound guard competed at Huntingdon’s skills camp over the summer then received an offer after his visit Aug. 16, 2022. Not long after, he received an offer from Judson University, an NAIA school in Illinois, ahead of the season opener.

Huntingdon competes in NCAA’s Division III within the Collegiate Conference of the South against Belhaven, Maryville, Berea, LaGrange, Piedmont and Covenant. Last season, the Hawks finished 8-15 overall with conference wins over Berea and Piedmont.
