DAPHNE, Ala.—The Daphne Recreation Department will hold last-call registration for spring baseball and softball on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the recreation department.

“After Saturday, we’ll continue to take registration but they may incur a late fee,” Recreation Director David McKelroy said, noting that the recreation department prefers not to take registrations before Saturday because they're short on staff.

Evaluations for the boys baseball ages 13-14 and girls softball ages 7-12 will be held Feb. 8 and Feb. 10 at Trione Sports Complex.

The price to register for boys baseball is $80, and the price to register for girls softball is $50.

“This doesn’t include the 12-and-under Dixie Youth boys baseball,” McKelroy said, which is run by Daphne Dixie Youth Baseball, Inc., a parent group.

Last call registration for the boys Dixie youth leagues, for ages 5-12, also will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the recreation department. However, the price to register is $90, and the evaluations will be held at Lott Park.
