DAPHNE, Ala.—Daphne’s Public Works Department announced the availability of weekly updates regarding roadwork in Lake Forest.
Public Works director Richard Johnson said the department wanted to be able to share information about ongoing projects more often.
“Giving a report at city council meetings every other week may be too little, too late and too far between,” Johnson said.
The email updates are only currently available for the Lake Forest project, but Johnson said the department will soon unveil a website that will allow email alerts for a variety of things, including garbage pickup changes.
Each Friday, information about work done the previous week and what residents can expect to be done in the next week will be sent in an email to everyone on the mailing list, Johnson said.
To sign up for the alerts, send an email to daphnepw@bellsouth.net and ask to be added to the Lake Forest Community notification list.
Johnson said this notification project will be used as a test for similar notifications for future projects, including TimberCreek roadwork.
The Lake Forest roadwork will take a year to complete, Johnson said. The project will include work on Ridgewood and Bayview Drive.
“They are going to have a complete facelift that will take them from what they are today to a new level. They will have concrete valley gutters, a raised median and landscaping. The project will also improve drainage in the area,” Johnson said.
