Daphne Trojan shortstop Steele Hall announced his commitment to the University of Tennessee’s baseball program last weekend.

The Volunteers returned to the College World Series for the first time since 2005 this past year following their best regular season where they were regular-season and SEC Tournament champions.

The member of Daphne’s Class of 2026, Hall hit leadoff for the Trojans last year and helped them finish second in Class 7A Area 2. He recorded a .358 average with 39 hits – three home runs – 21 RBIs, 36 runs and 13 stolen bases according to unofficial stats from Joey Warner and Mobile Baseball Connection.

The 5’ 10” 145-pound middle infielder has played his summer ball with the Excel Blue Wave. He added appearances in Prep Baseball Report’s Junior Future Games at the end of July as well as the 15U National Championship with the Blue Wave earlier in July where he was named an all-tournament hitter.

“Hall not only fits right in with high end talents 3-4 years older than him, he stands out,” Justin Goetz, a PBR scout, wrote earlier this week. “Not only does he have five tool potential as a position player, the ceiling is nearly as high on the mound.”

On the Perfect Game Circuit in May, he was again named an all-tournament hitter at the 14U Beast of the East Super 8 Invitational with the Aces National. On the mound, he registered a fastball range of 82-85 mph and a max curveball of 77 mph.
