Daphne library to host summer programs for children, teens

Area teens are invited to participate in Daphne Public Library's 2023 "All Together Now" teen summer reading program from June 5 to July 5.

Teens are invited to come to the library and read for prizes as well as to take part in special events offered during the month of June.

Teen Tuesdays will offer STEM Adventure workshops at 10 a.m. Origami, beading, drawing and calligraphy classes will be offered also throughout the month of June.

The library's official Summer Reading Kick-off will be Monday, June 5, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Daphne Civic Center. Teens can pick up their gift bags and reading logs during the kick-off event. There will be free hot dogs and entertainment provided by Tomfoolery: Juggling Extravaganza at 10:30 a.m.
Teens who complete a reading log will be entered into a "Read More This Summer Raffle." For additional information, call (251) 620-2503.

CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS

Every Monday is marvelous at the Daphne Public Library. Free entertainment for all ages will be provided each Monday in June at 10:30 a.m. in the Daphne Civic Center and the last Monday at Daphne City Hall.

Terrific Tuesdays are packed with fun. The library will offer stories, crafts and songs for lap babies at 10:30 a.m. and cool crafts and games for tweens at 2 p.m.

Wonderful Wednesdays will be filled with story times just for preschoolers. The library offers two opportunities for stories, crafts and songs at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Tremendous Thursdays are fully devoted to kindergarten through second grade. Awesome games and crafts will be offered at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

At the library's Summer Reading Finale on July 10, prizes will be raffled off to those that turn in a completed reading log. Reading logs can be picked up at the library or at the kickoff and are due Friday, June 30, by 6 p.m.
