DAPHNE, Ala.—The Daphne Public Library will hold an Alabama Virtual Library workshop on Jan. 25 from 4 to 5 p.m. in the new computer lab.

The workshops are limited to 15 people, and pre-registration is available at the library from now until the slots are filled.

The workshop will offer research tips for searching through the virtual library, which Young Adult Librarian Louise Youngblood said “can be daunting” to use.

“This class will encourage people to use this wonderful resource the state offers to us,” Youngblood said.

Youngblood mentioned the class was open to the general audience, but she will be “targeting more of the student.”

“Also, there’s a few things adults can find interesting,” she said, mentioning magazine subscriptions and news articles.

Youngblood said the workshop would also highlight other online databases to offer a variety of research options.
