DAPHNE, Ala.— Daphne High School’s assistant principal Joseph Roh announced Tuesday night 14 seniors who had earned GPAs high enough to graduate magna cum laude, cum laude or summa cum laude.
“This year, for the first time, similar to college designations, we will honor our IB students with further distinction based on their cumulative weighted GPA,” Roh said.
Students with a 4.0 or higher weighted GPA will graduate suma cum laude.
The students who achieved this distinction were:

Megan Rider
Jose Hernandez
O’Kesha Cooks
Hails Sewell
Matthew Brown
Amanda Hein
Veronica Jackson
Students with a 3.9 or higher GPA graduated magna cum laude.
Alexandria Gomez achieved the distinction of magna cum laude.
Students with a 3.8 or higher weighted GPA graduated cum laude.
This distinction was earned by Cherilyn Ramsey.
