Daphne Elementary School counselor named Alabama School Counselor of the Year

DAPHNE — Rebecca Johnson, a school counselor at Daphne Elementary School, has been named the Alabama School Counselor of the Year by the Alabama School Counselor Association.
Johnson has previously been named the Elementary School Counselor of the Year by the organization.
Johnson is the "Friendly School Counselor" at Daphne Elementary. She provides services ranging from classroom guidance on topics such as feelings, social skills, conflict resolution, bullying, personal safety and differences to small and individual counseling groups, as well as community resource linkage.
Johnson has been teaching since 2006. She began in Mobile County Public Schools and joined Baldwin County Public Schools in 2008. She taught kindergarten and first grade until becoming a school counselor in 2016.
Her degrees and certifications include a B.S. in elementary education, a master's degree in education (Professional School Counseling), school counseling data specialist and State of Alabama Department of Education Class A & Class B Certification.
She has also been the recipient of the Alabama School Counseling Association's RAVE Bronze Award (2017) and RAVE Silver Award (2018.)
