DAPHNE, Ala. — Hundreds of area children had a head start on celebrating the Easter season, thanks to two recent Easter egg hunts.
Catherine Place volunteers and residents hid hollow, candy-filled eggs around the assisted living facility’s campus on April 14 — much to Daphne East Elementary students’ delight.
The city of Daphne presented its annual Easter egg hunt at W.O. Lott Park, allowing various age groups of children to search for “hidden” — the city’s recreation department used the term loosely — treats.
The city's recreation department reportedly hid 10,000 eggs Saturday. The event — originating from the Daphne-Spanish Fort Rotary Club before the city of Daphne officially took it over two years ago — included a petting zoo and refreshments.
