BIRMINGHAM — Heather McElligott of Daphne was honored during awards ceremonies for students enrolled in Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy.
McElligott received the GlaxoSmithKline Patient Care Award in recognition of outstanding patient relations in both hospital and community practice. The honoree was judged to excel in communication skills, patient care presentations, drug regimen evaluation and recommendations, and health screening.
McElligott received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree during Samford graduation activity in May. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith McElligott.

MOBILE — The University of Mobile has released the names of students on the dean’s list for the 2008 spring semester. In order to make the list, a student must maintain a 3.5 grade point average while taking at least 12 semester hours.
Students named from Daphne are Jessica L. Bailey, Megan E. Dean, Alexis C. Dreding, Robert Grubach, Heather M. Hayes, Angela L. Mayer and Dana L. McDonald.

FLORENCE, Ala. — Five hundred eighty-eight undergraduate and graduate candidates at the University of North Alabama who completed their degrees in spring 2008 received their diplomas during commencement May 10.
