DAPHNE, Ala. — The Sound of the Eastern Shore marching band from Daphne High School traveled to Theodore on Oct. 24 to participate in the 33rd annual Deep South Marching Festival. They came home with a lot of hardware as a result of their hard work.

After scoring the highest score in their class as a band, and taking a large trophy for it, the individual and section awards began.

The color guard won the Best in Show award, followed by the percussion which also won the Best in Show award in their category.

If there had been a Best in Show for band, the Trojans would have taken that as well. Their overall score put them at the top of the scoreboard.

After an off week for Halloween, the band will close out their marching competition season by traveling to Tate High School in Cantonment, Fla. for the Gulf Coast Showcase of Champions.

In December, they will play at Walt Disney World.

The band is led by director Rick Faison, assistant director Mark Foster and guard instructor Marsha Foster.
