Daniel R. Lane, 66, of Crawfordsville, Ind., passed away Friday, April 17, 2015.
Born Aug. 6, 1948 in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Eugene and Irene (Davis) Lane.
He graduated from Ladoga High School in 1966. He married Jacquelyn Jeanne Nichols on April 14, 1967 in Crawfordsville. She preceded him in death on April 2, 2010.
Mr. Lane worked for R.R. Donnelley’s and Sons in Crawfordsville for 43 years, retiring in 2010. He was a graphic artist as well as being capable of operating several other positions within production.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, American Legion Post 72, Loyal Order of Moose and Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, bird-dogging and traveling to Gulf Shores with his wife.
Surviving family members include daughter, Valerie (Bert) Astleford of Worthington; sons, Ken (Melissa) Lane of Muncie and Lane (Hayley) McElheny of Crawfordsville, Kylie (Cody) Hoskins of Crawfordsville, Drew Murray of Muncie, Katie McElheny of Mecca and Collin Lane of Muncie; great-grandchildren, Zayden Pruitt, Isaak Hoskins, Bransyn Murray and Kinzie McElheny; brothers, Bill Lane of Alamo and Greg Lane of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and a sister, Diane Curran of Ash Grove, Mo.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lane.
