AtirArts recently held their end of spring party where the Middle Eastern dancers celebrated “Be Beautiful!  Be Yourself!  Be the Dance!”

The intermediate dancers featured original choreography by Atira that shows fluidity, grace and confidence; they performed “You and I” by Zintier.  Performers included Erin Raber, “Parvanae” Caitlin Presley, Anna Orlova, “Amira” Kathy Persons and Sonja Presley.

The audience was also impressed with the mother/daughter dance “Entrance of the Stars” performed by Sarah Persons and “Amira” Kathy Persons that featured original choreography by Atira.

Summer class graduation and the fall registration party will be July 19 at 6 p.m. at the Silverhill studio.

The AtirArts boutique will have hip scarves, harem pants and a multitude of other dancewear on sale.

Beginner classes in the new 8-week session start July 30.

Troupe auditions will be held in August; dancers must perform two minutes of Atira’s choreography plus two minutes of their original choreography.

The Ghazalla Dancers, AtirArts’ performing troupe, which focuses on a style of Egyptian belly dancing called Raqs Sharqi, or “Oriental dance” that is the ballet of belly dance, are available for special events.
