Crawfish, music and community spirit highlight SEEDS' Crawfish for the Classroom in Daphne

Posted

A popular community fundraiser returns to Daphne this weekend as SEEDS hosts its annual Crawfish for the Classroom event on Saturday, March 21 at Daphne City Hall.

The event, presented by 68 Ventures, begins at 4 p.m. at 1705 Main St. and will feature an afternoon of food, live music and family-friendly entertainment, with proceeds supporting local schools through the 2026 SEEDS Classroom Grant Program, a news release said.

Attendees can enjoy freshly prepared crawfish from MudBug Mafia while listening to live hits from the 80s and 90s performed by DISCO KISS. The event also includes activities for children such as a bounce house and face painting, along with craft beer offerings from Fairhope Brewing Company. Beer will be available for $5 with a valid ID.

Ticket prices vary depending on access and timing. Crawfish tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door, while event-only admission is $15 presale and $20 on the day of the event. Discounted tickets are available for Daphne school employees at $10, and children 6 and under are admitted free.

Funds raised will benefit multiple schools across Daphne, including Daphne High School, Daphne Middle School, W.J. Carroll Intermediate School, Daphne East Elementary School, Daphne Elementary School and Belforest Elementary School. The SEEDS Classroom Grant Program provides financial support for educational initiatives and resources that enhance classroom learning.

“Crawfish for the Classroom is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy good food and music, and directly support our local students,” Beth Dunn, SEEDS executive director, said in the release.

Organizers expect a strong turnout as the event continues to grow each year, drawing families, educators and local supporters together for a shared cause.
