Anne N. Cowan, 88, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008 in Robertsdale Healthcare Center where she had resided for the past six years.
She was born Sept. 25, 1919 in Sneads, Fla. She lived most of her adult life in Orlando, Fla., where she ran a nursing home out of her home. She moved to Gulf Shores in 1998 and later lived in Foley until she moved to the nursing facility.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Greer of Gulf Shores and John Greer of Warwick, Ga.; sister, Emily Frederick of Lake City, Fla.; four grandchildren, Julie Stewart of Gulf Shores, Jeff Greer of Monroe, La., Cory Greer of Canton, Ga., and Audra DeAlessandro of Temple, Ga.; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Friday, Aug. 29 at the First Baptist Church in Gulf Shores.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Alabama, P.O. Box 9272, Mobile, AL 36691.
Arrangements were made by Mack Funeral Home and Crematory, Robertsdale.
