SUMMERDALE, Alabama — Ronald and Beverly Mannich of Summerdale will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 23, 2011. They will be honored with a reception from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at the Marlow United Methodist Church. All family and friends are invited.
He graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in agriculture. He retired after many years of farming.
She graduated from Auburn University with a degree in education. She retired after 30 years of teaching at Foley Middle and Foley High, and taught science at Summerdale Elementary.
They met at the Gulf Bowl in 1960 while bowling in leagues. They married Dec. 23, 1961 at the Shawmut United Methodist Church in Valley, Ala.
They have three children, Lucretia (Bill) Davis of Foley, Wayne Mannich of Summerdale and Rebecca (Mike) Frolik of Silverhill; five grandchildren, Amber (Danny) Cornell of Robertsdale, Meagan Davis of Kansas, Caleb Davis of Foley, Brandon and Michaela Frolik of Silverhill; and two great-granddaughters, Abby and Emma Cornell of Robertsdale.
