ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — The Robertsdale City Council will consider next year’s municipal budget at the next council meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 8. The meeting was moved from Monday because of the Labor Day holiday. The “workshop” portion of the meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. instead of 5 p.m. to give the council more time to go through the budget.
All council members were present for the meeting.
The council also voted to approve a $300 ad in the Baldwin County Cattle and Fair Association tabloid.
The meeting was then adjourned.
It’s not clear if it’s the season or the economic climate that is accounting for the near-record meeting, which lasted less than five minutes.
Mayor Charles Murphy noted that the agenda for the city’s Planning Commission was very light as well.
“Things really slow up right now,” he said.
