Council presence lacking at meeting

On Thursday, Aug. 20, representatives from Fairhope, Daphne and Spanish Fort met at the Daphne Civic Center. The theme was centered on the cooperation of the Tri-cities to design and institute common projects, which will enhance the worth of all on the Eastern Shore.

Of those in attendance were the mayors of all three cities and the Honorable Congressman Jo Bonner as well as other federal representatives.

The mayors from Daphne and Spanish Fort were well represented by their council, but Fairhope’s Mayor Kant had only councilman (Dan) Stankoski. There were no other council members representing Fairhope. How disappointing. Hugh McCoy, president of the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce also attended.

How can we expect to go forward without working together, and, how can those missing council members expect to be re-elected?
