Constance Atlee Johnston was born Oct. 1, 1946, in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, and passed away on Jul. 27, 2026, at age 79 in Daphne, Baldwin County, Alabama. She is survived by her brother, William Atlee (Jean); niece, Elizabeth Atlee; and nephew, Bill Atlee of West Chester, PA.

Connie was born in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, where she graduated from Haverford High School in 1964. She graduated from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1968 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in textile design and moved to New York City to work as a designer for Milliken Textile Co.

After marrying her first husband, Walter Brandt, they moved to Amagansett, Long Island, New York where they owned and operated a Bed and Breakfast. After the business was sold, they moved to Fairhope, Alabama, where her husband, Walter, passed away. Several years later, she married William (Bill) Johnston, and they remained in Fairhope, until he passed away in 2020.

Connie owned her own loom, created fabric, and made her own wardrobe. She was also an accomplished and talented artist in both watercolor and oils. She shared her artwork with various local charities. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, serving on the altar guild, and later a member of St. Francis at The Point in Fairhope. She was also a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, serving at one time as Regent.

A funeral service will be held on Aug. 29, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of St. James Episcopal Church, 860 N Section St., Fairhope, Alabama 36532. Interment to follow in the Memorial Garden. Contributions can be made in her name to Eastern Shore Art Center, 401 Oak Ave., Fairhope, Alabama 36532.
