James Howard Compton, 87, of Lillian, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at home.
He was a member of Lillian United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Optimist Club of Predido Bay and American Legion. He served in the Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Compton and Ruth Stamets Compto; and his wife, Doris Compton.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Stites of Lillian; son, Mike Compton of Lillian; and four grandchildren, Max Stites, Gretchen Stites, Chris Compton and Eric Compton.
Visitation begins at 1 p.m. with funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 18 at Lillian United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Pine Rest Memorial Park, Foley.
