Columbia Southern University adds 11 new program opportunities

Columbia Southern University (CSU) announced the addition of 11 new specialized education programs ranging from space operations to a variety of concentrations in instructional design and technology.

New programs include a Doctor of Health Care Administration, Doctor of Public Administration, Bachelor of Science in Space Operations, Bachelor of Science in Instructional Design and Technology — offering concentrations in communication, data analytics, human resources management, information technology or management. These are offered alongside a graduate certificate in learning design for instructors and trainers and an undergraduate certificate in space operations.

In October, the university hosted local business-owners and community leaders to discuss the significance of the space industry in Alabama. U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. (Ret.) Mike Perry, dean and assistant provost of the College of Space, Intelligence and Military Operations, led the conversation.

"With the U.S. Space Command headquarters scheduled to move to Huntsville, Alabama is on the ground floor for developing the future of space operations," Perry said. "Our community has a tremendous opportunity to create economic growth through innovation in the space operations industry."

This new program is joined by CSU's new doctoral programs in public administration and health care administration.

The Doctor of Public Administration was designed for experienced professionals seeking to influence policy, bridging the gap between academic theory and real-world application.

"This program comes at a vital time when organizations across all sectors require leaders capable of navigating complex regulatory environments and driving systemic change," said Elwin Jones, vice provost for the Doctoral Center and dean of College of Business and Technology.
