DAPHNE, Ala.—Daphne Mayor Fred Small’s “Coffee with the Mayor” event will focus on the state of Daphne High School, as reported by special guest speaker Meredith Horton.
Horton is currently amid graduating her first class of seniors and wrapping up her first year as principal at Daphne High School. Horton is expected to give an update about the school during the event.
Small has been hosting Coffee with the Mayor since he came into office six years ago as a way to involve the community in government, Jane Ellis, assistant to the mayor, said.
“These events are to keep the citizens informed in not only things that might be of interest to them, but the department heads are also always present,” Ellis said.
Small hosts these events on the last Thursday of every other month at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall in City Council Chambers. The next event will be held on July 28.
