Bernice Maxine Coates, 84, a resident of Foley, AL, died Thursday, May 29, 2008.
She was active in her church and community and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Reginald Coates.
Survivors include her husband, William Chavis of Foley; step-children, daughter, Patricia Coates of Orange Beach; son, Alan Coates of Gulf Shores; grandchildren, Michael Coates of Orange Beach, Christian Coates of Foley and Olivia Coates of Pensacola, Fla.; four brothers, Clifford Evans of Norfolk, Va., Jennings Evans of Tuscaloosa, Jack Evans of Cordova and William Evans of New York.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 2 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 3from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Roger Beason officiating. Interment will follow at Wallace Cemetery, Gulf Shores.
