• Bears, Tigers split league opening series/RHS banks tiebreaker with 7th-inning rally

ROBERTSDALE—Zack Mosley drove in two runs, including the walk off score in game three at
Robertsdale’s Kevin Raley Field to lift the Golden Bears to a 7-6 tie-breaker win over Baldwin County Tuesday. Tied 6-6 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Mosley singled in Trevor Corte with two outs for the win. Austin Kane (1-0) picked up the pitching victory for RHS.

BC and Robertsdale split their Class 6A, Area 2 series earlier this week. The Golden Bears (1-1 in Area 2) won the series opener in Bay Minette 6-0 Monday and the Tigers (1-1 in Area 2) bounced back to win 4-2 at Robertsdale Tuesday. RHS then rallied to take the tie-break face off 7-6.

Brendan Mayo pitched for the Tigers win Tuesday. The senior lefthander went seven innings with eight strikeouts, three hits and three walks.

Tyler Reeves led off the Bears' seventh with a single and reached third on Corte’s hit. Reeves then scored on a passed ball to tie 6-6. Reeves’ bases-loaded triple in the fifth scored Devin Carlee, Will Carnley and Brandon Broussard and re-sparked the Bears who had trailed 6-1. Corte’s fielder’s choice plated Reeves to make it a 1-run game.

In the series opener at BCHS Monday, Carnley (3-2) tossed a two hitter and struck out nine for the Bears’ shutout victory.
