Clarissa Louise Leggett, 60, a resident of Eight Mile, and born in Nutters Fork, Clarksburg, W.Va., passed away at home surrounded by her family.
She was a crafter who loved making beautiful gifts of plastic canvas and stitchery for her family and friends.
Spending a sunny day at the beach, hopefully seeing a dolphin or two, was one of her favorite things to do. She loved her home and her family and her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, James Burger and Bertha Nicholson Burger; and a sister, Ellen McLaughlin.
Surviving are her loving husband of 41 years, James Leggett; two sons, Edward Leggett and Gary Leggett; daughter, Tanya Leggett; two brothers, Mike Burger of Styx River and Jeff Burger of Mobile; sister, Becky Burke of Styx River; and four grandchildren, Nikkie Leggett, James Leggett, Skyler Leggett and Brianna Leggett.
A celebration of Clarissa’s life will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at Hughes Funeral Home in Daphne. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m.
