CKCS raises $3,500 in community outreach

DAPHNE, Ala. — Christ the King Catholic School students helped collect $3,400 for poor children in India in their January community outreach, the school announced Tuesday.

The CKCS student body collected $1,400 for 750 street children in India that are ministered to and educated by members of the Presentation Sisters, who have also served Christ the King for the past 36 years. The balance of the money was donated by friends of Sr. Maureen Nolan, CKCS principal.

Class 7B collected the most funds of any of the school homerooms.

Members of the 7B homeroom are Jordan Shelby, Gabe Murphy, Taylor Broom, Abbie Dye, Ashley Szydel, Elizabeth Glaser, Rachel Paris-Harbison, Matthew Mead, Larkin Harris, Ali Darring, Emily Schmidt, and Chelsea Roberts. Also in the class are Katherine Barr, Jordan Doucet, Sahra El Hamaki, Emily Tarlton, Will Anderson, Reid Jones, Meghan Finney, David Ford, Alex Adent, Jayde Frichter and Harrison Stevens.
